Meeting tonight, Oct. 24, on remedial feasibility study Montana Standard October 24, 2012The public is invited to an informational meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Powell County Community Center, 416 Cottonwood Ave., Deer Lodge, to learn about the upcoming investigation and search for expended military munitions from past military training. The project is scheduled to begin summer 2013 at the former Deer Lodge Local Training Area located near the Montana State Prison. The informational meeting includes a 6 p.m. presentation on the project scope and objectives. Interest in forming a Restoration Advisory Board will also be discussed. The meeting will provide an opportunity for the community to discuss the project with representatives of the Montana Army National Guard’s (MTARNG) Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Program, the United States Army Corps of Engineers and UXO contractors. ...
