Ardmore - In an effort to address concerns about the former Ordnance Road Landfill, a public information meeting was scheduled Tuesday.

The landfill is an irregularly shaped waste disposal area once used by the U.S. Air Force. The site is currently used as the Ardmore Industrial Air Park and is located on Ordnance Road east of Big Branch Creek. It is bordered on the south by Jay Thomas Road.

A proposed plan from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has outlined two problems with the site. The first problem came to light when remedial testing showed groundwater contaminated by the volatile organic compound trichloroethylene.
