SouthField land transfer clears another hurdle By Christian Schiavone Quincy Patriot Ledger (MA) September 1, 2011WEYMOUTH - The deal to transfer more than 680 acres of land in South Weymouth from the Navy to South Shore Tri-Town Development Corp. cleared another hurdle Wednesday.
The two sides signed a term sheet, a non-binding document outlining the legal terms of the $25 million deal, including plans for the Navy’s environmental remediation work on the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station.
South Shore Tri-Town is the agency overseeing conversion of the former base into residential and commercial property.
