Subject: [CPEO-MEF] PERCHLORATE: Barstow Marine Corpse Logistics Base (CA)
Barstow area water unsafe for drinking

From Staff Reports
Barstow Desert Dispatch (CA)
November 19, 2010

BARSTOW - Golden State Water Company is warning all customers in the Barstow area not to drink local water until further notice.

On Thursday, Golden State discovered that water samples taking at the Marine Corpse Logistics Base showed levels of perchlorates above the maximum contaminant level of 6 parts per billion.

Subsequent sample from outside the base and in wells within the Barstow area also indicated higher levels of perchlorates than permitted.

Barstow's water may still be used for non-drinking purposes.
