Safeguarding Laughlin AFB's future with the Joint Land Use Study Group 
(JLUS)

Washington officials, Air Force brass and Del Rio civic leaders boast 
little in common, but protection against encroachment toward Laughlin 
Air Force Base is the uncommon goal of a group of citizens determined to 
halt threats to the military mission here.

In their arsenal are zoning ordinances, homeland security measures, 
environmental regulations, federal and state statutes, and public 
opinion. But Del Rio’s Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) demands more. Members 
of the JLUS here tell LIVE! that any and all of those safeguards must 
first be backed up with facts and best judgments.
