Development near Bogue Field still opposed by ACT

HAVELOCK — Members of Allies for Cherry Point Tomorrow meeting here 
Tuesday firmed up opposition to development near Bogue Field including 
attending a Harrier flyover Aug. 8.

Members of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and NAVAIR advocacy 
group, which has pushed for Air Compatibility Installation Use Zone 
approval in the region, announced their opposition last week to a 
12.19-acre development proposed for the accident zone at Marine Corps 
Aircraft Landing Field Bogue in Carteret County.

The proposed Mariner Bay development of the Pendergraph Companies in 
Raleigh requires a conditional-use permit from Carteret County Board of 
Commissioners before a residential 25-unit project on 9.77 acres of the 
tract can proceed.
