Crane watches waste sitesBy LEONARD THORNTON Bedford Times-Mail August 3, 2006 CRANE - Members of the Restoration Advisory Board at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane monitor environmental clean-up efforts at the military facility. "We have had some ground water contamination, but it is all contained within the confines of NSWC Crane," Bill Gates, RAB Installation co-chair, told the panel Tuesday. "It runs back toward the center of the base, and we continue to monitor the situation." For example, he said, a pond at the base has tested positive for a cholorated cleaning fluid.
