The fingerprints didn't match the missing Tybee Bomb.

With that Friday announcement, the Air Force wrote what is likely the
final chapter in this quirky island story: The long-lost missing nuke
will remain lost.

Federal experts who scoured a corner of Wassaw Sound last fall during
the first government search for the bomb in decades did not find the
evidence they were looking for - uranium 235 or 238.
