No environmental relief for military
By KEVIN DENNEHY

A congressional subcommittee deleted some provisions from a spending
bill that would exempt America's military from a litany of environmental
laws, including parts of the Clean Water Act and the federal Superfund
Act.

The proposed military readiness package - which will be reviewed today
by the full House Armed Services Committee - still includes exemptions
from parts of the Endangered Species Act and the Migratory Birds Act.
