Citizens sue to force environmental studies at proposed Oz site

A citizens group on Thursday moved to delay the transfer of the
Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant to a theme park developer until
more thorough environmental studies are done. 

The suit could delay the Wonderful World of Oz theme park
proposed for the plant, but an anti-Oz group insisted Thursday that
was not its aim. 

Taxpayers Opposed To Oz, known as TOTO, asked a federal
judge to halt the transfer of the plant until the federal government
complies with environmental and historic preservation laws. The
250-member group wants the judge to order the government to
prepare an environmental impact statement and other studies, which
could take more than a year.
