Heights Council gives green light to Tim Hortons at Telegraph-Warren

DEARBORN HEIGHTS - The brownfield plan necessary to bring a Tim Hortons to the northwest corner of Telegraph Road and Warren Avenue was approved unanimously Tuesday by the City Council.

If development continues to move forward, a Tim Hortons will replace the vacant gas station at 7205 Telegraph.

The approved plan will capture about $140,000 from taxes on the property over a 17-year period.

It will pay for an environmental assessment of the property, and the demolition of the vacant gas station and removal of contamination, Oliverio said.

Contamination from hydrocarbons in the soil and groundwater has already been determined, he said.
