Cleveland slated to get $1.9 million state grant to clear site for new
surgery center at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center

Ohio -- The city of Cleveland is slated to receive a $1.9 million state brownfield clean-up grant to clear a site where St. Vincent Charity Medical Center off East 22nd Street plans to build a surgery center. The grant is one of 14 recently announced from the Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund, a competitive statewide program that provides grants to buy property, demolish structures, do environmental cleanups and improve infrastructure. In this round of grants more than $21 million will go to clean up sites around the state so that idle commercial and industrial property can be reused. The grants still require approval from the State Controlling Board. "These projects are the old buildings and vacant lots that used to be full of life and activity, and we want to ensure they can be that way again," said Lisa Patt-McDaniel, director of the Ohio Department of Development, in a statement announcing the grants. ...
