Developments moving forward in Dearborn By Barbara Ziemba Dearborn Press & Guide (MI) December 12, 2007 With all the focus on the state's bad economy, it could be easy to forget that development projects are continuing in the city. On the east side, a piece of history will disappear early next year, when the old Montgomery Ward store on the corner of Michigan and Schaefer is demolished. And on the west side, a shot of celebrity is in the offing for the former Brothers Formal Wear and Tuxedo Shop. On the sunrise side of Dearborn, plans for the site of the former Ward's call for the new building to be three stories with a faÁade of brick and stone. The store opened in 1937 and closed in 2001. It has been vacant since then. ...
