Court deals setback to hospital plan By CHRIS BAGLEY North County Times (CA) May 10, 2007TEMECULA -- A judge has struck down the city's decision to allow a six-story hospital to be built in south Temecula, saying an environmental study commissioned by the city overlooked potential health hazards posed by a gasoline additive leaking from nearby storage tanks. In response to a lawsuit brought by the California Nurses Association last year, Judge Dallas Holmes said Temecula ignored portions of the California Environmental Quality Act and asked the nurses union to suggest remedies. The ruling, released Wednesday, will likely require the city to redo at least some parts of the report, a process that could take several months. Holmes also said the environmental impact report improperly downplayed the effects of noise from sirens, a perceived shortcoming that led some neighbors to file a parallel lawsuit. ...
