Contaminant burden on district Tests find no link between Norco High toxins, Wyle labs By Andrea Bennett Inland Valley Daily Bulletin (CA) February 26, 2007NORCO - After recent tests at Norco High School cleared Wyle Laboratories of responsibility for vinyl chloride found in the school's science building, the buck was essentially passed on to the school district. "Once they made the conclusion there wasn't a connection to Wyle, they weren't as concerned about it," said Ted Rozzi, superintendent of facilities for Corona-Norco Unified School District. State experts said data revealed vinyl chloride in indoor air at the high school did not after all seem to be a breakdown of TCE, or trichloroethylene, in the groundwater beneath it. Scientists for the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, which oversees the contamination cleanup from the former munitions and product testing facility's activities, said this month that a likely culprit of the vinyl chloride is the building itself. ...
