Subject: [CPEO-BIF] FEL site (NJ) redevelopment debated
 
Development at FEL parcel to be discussed

HOWELL ? Tonight's Planning Board meeting is expected to be attended by
scores of residents answering a community call to arms over a proposal
the board is considering that could result in a residential community
eventually being built on a brownfields site. 

A brownfields designation indicates there is some contamination present
on a piece of property. 

Also expected to be resolved is whether Mayor Joseph M. DiBella will
recuse himself from any further hearings regarding the redevelopment of
the Frequency Engineering Laboratory (FEL) tract on Route 547 near
Birdsall Road. 

The redevelopment proposal for the FEL site has already been the subject
of one contentious hearing during which a conflict of interest challenge
was put to the mayor by a resident.
