Harrison County to act on Air Base Contamination County to act on water contamination By Lee Zion Harrison County Times-Reporter (NE) June 30, 2026 LOGAN — Harrison County has a site loaded with toxic chemicals, and of the people who live nearby, on 315th Street, there are five houses in a row. Eight people there have some form of cancer. To County Commissioner Rebecca Wilkerson, the question was clear. “We’re not acknowledging that we have the contamination in our county,” she said. The county responded to a letter sent to them by resident Marilyn Jo Mentzer about TCE, a contaminant in the county’s water. The letter was read in full at the meeting; a copy of that letter was printed in the June 24 edition of the Harrison County Times-Reporter.
