Kids to play ball on former Army depot land by Jim Hook Chambersburg Public Opinion (PA) August 10, 2017 CHAMBERSBURG - A youth league plans to turn land that was part of Letterkenny Army Depot 20 years ago into ball fields. The Hamilton Heights Youth League wants to develop 35 acres on the south side of South Patrol Road into five ball fields. The 1995 Base Realignment and Closure Commission severed the land from Letterkenny. Community leaders decided the land would be used for recreation instead of industrial development.
