Barrasso: Missile sites polluted Wyoming groundwater and Washington must clean them up by Heather Richards Casper Star-Tribune (WY) March 29, 2017 When the United States was embroiled in the Cold War with the former Soviet Union, seven Wyoming missile sites were on high alert. More than half a century later, the sites that the federal government built to hold missiles to protect the nation pose a serious environmental threat to Wyomingites, said Sen. John Barrasso on Wednesday before the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works in D.C. And it’s the responsibility of the federal government to ensure that those missile sites are cleaned up.
