Join SERDP and ESTCP on Thursday, May 7 for two presentations on Department of Defense (DoD) research efforts on factors affecting munitions mobility and in situ measurements. First, Dr. Carl Friedrichs from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science will discuss concepts and forces important in the burial, initiation of motion and continued motion of underwater munitions. Second, Dr. Joseph Calantoni from the Naval Research Laboratory will describe results from a SERDP study on detailed time series measurements of the in situ boundary layer processes responsible for munitions mobility.
