Citizens demand inclusion in disposal decision

Citizens opposed to an open burn of 15 million pounds of M6 at Camp Minden demand to be part of the disposal decision.

In a stinging letter released Monday, they pointed out missteps by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s in not following its own guidelines and even disclosed conflict within the agency on how to properly get rid of the propellant.

The letter penned by Frances Kelley, Louisiana Progress Action director of organizing and Concerned Citizens of the Camp Minden Open Burn organizer, is addressed to a host of officials in state and federal government, regional and national offices of the EPA and the Army.
