FORA says government shutdown has been costly Authority releases report By PHILLIP MOLNAR Monterey Herald (CA) October 16, 2013The agency in charge of much of the county's former Army base claims the government shutdown cost them "probably $100,000" and significant delays.
The Fort Ord Reuse Authority released a shutdown report to media Wednesday as reports of the government closure ending dominated the news.
Executive director Michael Houlemard said his office prepared the report for board members concerned about the federal stoppage and decided to share it with the public.
"We own our delays," Houlemard said Wednesday. "We're not here making excuses. We just think it is important for the public to understand there is a local impact."
