El Toro contamination information kept privateGreat Park staff wants to make sure legal strategy is set in dealing with contract for base cleanup.
By SEAN EMERY ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER (CA) October 2, 2009IRVINE - Great Park officials are attempting to clarify an environmental consulting contract that some worry could be used to keep contamination information hidden from the public.
Park officials on Thursday waved off worries that running a large portion of the environmental work through a legal firm would result in a report that could be kept under wraps if the findings prove negative.
Instead, they say an environmental firm will simply be on hand in case the city's legal team has any technical questions regarding the El Toro cleanup, and they don't want the information to leak until a full legal strategy is crafted.
