Water contamination contained at Fort Meade Initial well tests show problem appears not to have spread off post By RYAN JUSTIN FOX Annapolis Capital (MD) August 14, 2009Contamination of water being used at homes around Fort George G. Meade might not be as severe as Army and environmental officials originally feared.
Results from groundwater tests conducted this spring show no significant levels of harmful chemicals in water in private wells around the Army post, according to information released by fort officials this week.
"While the first round of testing shows good news, we hope residents will continue to participate for the second phase of the testing process," Paul Fluck, Fort Meade's installation restoration manager, said in a news release.
