Army says EPA action at Ft. Detrick unnecessary

FREDERICK, Md. -

The Army says it is unnecessary to add an old Fort Detrick dump site to a list of the nation's most polluted places.

In a letter obtained by The Associated Press on Wednesday, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army Addison Davis told the Environmental Protection Agency the Army plans to cap the source of ground water contamination next spring.
