Florida soldiers blast Guard weapons range clean By ANGELA BRANDT Helena Independent Record (MT) April 24, 2008 TOWNSEND - Growing up, 1st Sgt. James Kendrick thought a cool job would be one that let him blow stuff up. As an explosive ordnance disposal soldier, Kendrick does just that. Capt. Gene Redding agrees that he adores his job. "It's a ball." But it's not all fun, games and awesome explosions. Kendrick and Redding, along with the 20 other soldiers with the 221st Ordnance Company of the Florida Army National Guard, who recently returned from a 14-month deployment in the Middle East, were in Montana the past two weeks cleaning up unexploded ordnance in the Montana National Guard Limestone Hills Training Area in Townsend. ...
