Fire Debris Tests Show Toxins

Tests done following the Jan. 29 fire at the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment 
Authority show asbestos contamination in the ash and debris.

The test results were provided in a joint news release Friday from 
Sebastian County Judge David Hudson, Redevelopment Authority Director 
Ivy Owen and Emergency Management Deputy Coordinator Tonya Roberts.

The results of the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality tests 
are being shared with the authority, the Arkansas Department of Health, 
the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management and the Federal 
Emergency Management Agency, the news release stated.
