Perchlorate hearings postponed again Jason Pesick San Bernardino Sun (CA) November 1, 2007LOS ANGELES - State hearings to determine if three suspected polluters will have to clean up water contamination in Rialto won't be happening any time soon - if ever.
That became clear Thursday during a hearing in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
No Rialto official attended the hearing, but when contacted later City Councilman Ed Scott, a member of the council's perchlorate subcommittee, said the next step will be to have the EPA declare the contaminated area a Superfund site.
Scott backpedaled a bit later and said he would meet with EPA officials during the coming days and bring a recommendation back to the council.
