AG warns of Tiyan toxins
Residents advised to vacate property

Despite warnings from the Office of the Attorney General that her property
may not be safe to live on, Margarita Frasure said she will continue to
stay in her Tiyan home until she is forced to leave.

Frasure, 45, was one of 50 people in Tiyan who received hand-delivered
letters from the Office of the Attorney General warning them of the
possible health risks of staying in the former military housing area.

The AG's office has been reviewing the legal issues behind the federal
Department of Transportation's letter to local government officials,
warning them that Guam could lose millions of dollars in federal funding
and the Tiyan cliff-line land if those properties are not used for a
highway or industrial purposes, as was agreed to when the land was returned
to the local government.
