[CPEO-MEF] Environmental Restoration for FY2006

The Defense Appropriations bill for fiscal year 2006 awaits final
approval. It has attracted a great deal of attention this year over
other issues, but buried within the document are the appropriations for
cleanup at Defense Department facilities, other than those covered under
the Base Realignment and Closure accounts in the Military Construction
Appropriations legislation.

Here are the final numbers for each account:

Army $407,865,000
Navy $305,275,000
Air Force $406,461,000
Defense-Wide $28,167,000
Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) $256,921,000 

Note that the FUDS final number is higher than the House-proposed level
of $221,921,000 - I assume this was the Presidential budget request -
and lower than the Senate plus-up of $271,921,000.
