Noise and Neighbors Meetings Underway|
by Mark Poepsel KOLD TV News-13 (Tucson, AZ) October 20, 2005
A committee of local political and neighborhood leaders met Wednesday night to discuss noise and other issues related to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
A D-M official was on hand to answer questions. Base supporters and those with neighborhood concerns made their points known.
The base is one of Tucson's major economic forces, but during preparations for the latest round of base closures (run by the Pentagon's Base Realignment and Closure Committee), community members pointed out concerns over noise.
Land use changes affected the way many residents viewed their own homes. Some were concerned limits on land use affected their property values.
