Subject: [CPEO-MEF] Implementing Arizona's anti-encroachment fund
 
Military installation fund gathers public scrutiny

The public is invited to give their opinion on rules outlining how state
funds will be distributed to protect Arizona's military installations.

This week, there will be four public meetings in different cities,
including Yuma, where interested stakeholders can give their thoughts on
the draft of the rules governing the state's newly created Military
Installation Fund application and disbursement.

The meeting here will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Yuma
County Health Department auditorium, 2200 West 28th St. The other
meetings are in Sierra Vista, Tucson and Avondale.

Basically, the goal is to give the public the ability to review and
respond to "all the administrative details" of the policy, said Jami
McFerren, spokeswoman for the Arizona Department of Commerce. "These
meetings are to give the public the opportunity to give input on the
rules for disbursing the money," she said.
