The Presidio Trust has asked state and federal agencies for help
investigating allegations that some employees were ordered to bury a
dozen drums of toxic waste on park grounds.

Craig Middleton, the trust's acting executive director, said Monday that
he has asked the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S.
Department of Justice and the state Department of Toxic Substance
Control to look into that allegation and others.

Those charges, leveled by seven laid-off employees, include claims that
the trust dumped paints, solvents and diesel fuel in the park, allowed
raw sewage to flow into San Francisco Bay and refused to provide safety
equipment to employees handling toxic materials.
