[CPEO-MEF] SASC Approves New BRAC Rounds

By a vote of 17-8 the Senate Armed Services Committee has approved language 
for new rounds of BRAC.  Markup of the full Defense Authorization bill is 
expected to be completed by noon EDT today.  The exact language should be 
available sometime later this afternoon.  The House Defense Authorization 
does not contain any language authorizing new rounds of BRAC.  Both Defense 
Authorization bills must still go before the full House and Senate for a 
vote.  Differences in the two bills--such as BRAC--will be resolved in 
conference committee.
