Tinton Falls mayor eyes fort resources
Fort property worth $180M, 'most valuable in history of base closings'

TINTON FALLS - There are 254 acres of Fort Monmouth property in the borough and some of it has valuable buildings and services.

Mayor Peter Maclearie shared information from a recent four-hour tour of Fort Monmouth that he made with other local municipal leaders, at the April 1 municipal meeting.

The mayor played a DVD he was given after the tour that provided an overview of the acreage, known as the Charles Wood area, that lies between Hope Road and the Garden State Parkway.
