State Rep. Johnson says he's 'not letting up' on Dresser plant contamination

Suzanne Cataldie stood at a podium on May 27, looked at a row of officials involved with the cleanup of the former GE-Dresser plant in Tioga, and spoke her mind.

Cataldie said she had been told that DEQ officials wouldn't answer homeowners' questions about the contamination since the agency has been named as a defendant in multiple lawsuits.

She and others had packed the Mary Goff Elementary School gymnasium — just a mile away from the plant that closed in 2017 — for the second public meeting hosted by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) on the contamination at the plant.
