EPA, Eaton announce off-site TCE remediation can end; on-site efforts to reduce levels to continue Kearney Hub (KS) October 10, 2017 LENEXA, Kan. - Water tests confirm that off-site trichloroethylene contamination levels linked to the Kearney Eaton Corporation plant no longer exceed the Environmental Protection Agency’s maximum contaminant level in drinking water. The success of groundwater remediation efforts to reduce the off-site TCE levels was announced this afternoon in a press release from EPA’s Region 7 office and Eaton. The release also says Eaton will continue groundwater remediation and monitoring for on-site TCE contamination.
