TCE site in Endicott gets additional cleanup grant

A county-owned brownfield property in Endicott contaminated with a toxic solvent is getting additional funds to help with cleanup.

The Department of Environmental Conservation announced nearly $59,000 in NY Works II funding for remediating 312 Maple St., where trichloroethylene, or TCE, has been found in groundwater samples. The solvent was used in industrial processes there for decades, and has been linked to kidney, liver and other cancers, and birth defects.
