Proposal to fill wetlands, fix polluted Filbin Creek part of Uptown  
project

A proposal to fill 34 acres of wetlands along International Boulevard  
will enable financing for a plan to clean up polluted Filbin Creek,  
North Charleston officials said Tuesday.

The wetlands work is part of the planned Uptown project located  
between the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center and  
the Centre Point development.

"Uptown at Centre Pointe will provide housing, restaurants,  
entertainment and ancillary office space for Boeing's employees,  
customers and vendors," according to an application for the wetlands  
work.
