Madison water contamination concerns grow EPA testing to be done next  
week

MANSFIELD - Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department is  
making citizens aware of concerns over private well water systems  
near Madison Early Childhood Learning Center, where contamination was  
found in June.

The Ohio Department of Health sent letters Nov. 16 to homeowners and  
businesses, warning of possible ground water contamination.  
Additional testing will be done Wednesday and residents in the area  
may request their wells be tested if they live in the target area.

During a routine quarterly test in June, trichloroethene (TCE) and  
dichloroethene (1,2 DCE) were found in the water supply well at the  
MECLC (formerly known as the Jesse Beer Elementary School), 102 Bahl  
Ave.
