Florida Brownfields Redevelopment Workshop

Travel Stipends Still Available    AICP Credits Anticipated

Pegeen Hanrahan, former Mayor of Gainesville, to speak

 

Register today for the June 4th Florida Brownfields Redevelopment Workshop, hosted by the Brownfield Communities Network, in association with NALGEP.  A talk by Pegeen Hanrahan, former mayor of Gainesville and sustainability expert, has just been added to the agenda.  This one-day workshop is designed to provide knowledge, resources, and networking for the benefit of rural communities seeking to learn how to promote environmental redevelopment, public health protection, economic redevelopment, and job creation at sites and along corridors with documented or perceived contamination issues.  AICP credits will likely be available for planning professionals.

 

The Goldstein Brownfields Foundation and the Environmental Justice Committee of the Florida Brownfields Association have teamed up to provide 10 stipends of up to $100 to help representatives from challenged communities attend the workshop. The deadline for the stipend application has been extended to May 25^th.
