City to review progress of brownfields work

The abandoned O’Neill Manufacturing facility at Howell and Anderson 
streets in North Rome has been the focus of a significant brownfields 
assessment for the past year or more....

Rome received a pair of $200,000 brownfield grants in 2008 that have 
been used to identify and make preliminary assessment of properties that 
are suspected of environmental contamination.

Lindberg said work at the new Star Cleaners on Turner McCall Boulevard 
is evidence of the success of the first round of environmental assessment.
