Binghamton shapes vision for Brandywine Corridor Residents asked for ideas on brownfield site By Nancy Dooling Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin (NY) September 21, 2010BINGHAMTON -- Planners envision neighborhoods intertwined with commercial and industrial districts in and around the Brandywine Corridor. But at this point, plans to redevelop the 158-acre brownfield in the heart of Binghamton remain just a vision, planners said Tuesday night during a workshop at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School on Ogden Street. Residents, businesses owners and public officials attended. ...The vision is constantly evolving. One issue that's popped up is that the revised flood maps proposed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency would put the southern two-thirds of the site in a 100-year flood plain, Evangelisti said. That could make potential developers back away from investing in the site. ...
