Pfizer gives update on contaminated site By Ann DeMatteo New Haven Register (CT) December 21, 2009NORTH HAVEN - Slowly but surely, progress is being made to clean up and restore the old Upjohn Co. site off Stiles Lane.
Officials from Pfizer Inc., which controls the 78 acres, gave an update to the Citizens' Advisory Panel recently.
The purpose of the meeting was to explain that Pfizer is working on final revisions to its corrective measures study, which will be submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in late January, said Russ Downey, Pfizer project director.
Also, a video that will be used to inform the public and community groups about the status of the project was presented. The video will be shown to as many people as possible prior to the time public comment is sought on the cleanup, officials said. It is expected that public comment will be taken by mid-2010.
