Parchment paper plant redevelopment progresses

After nearly a decade of false starts and setbacks, the city of Parchment will say good-bye to an abandoned paper mill and replace it with a green mixed-use community.

Through a partnership with River Reach Partners, made up of Denver-based Frontier Renewal and Kansas City-based Lundine & Associates, the city will increase not only the percentage of its usable land but also could nearly double its population of 1,900 people. Parchment Mayor Rob Heasley, along with Eric Williams, president and CEO of Frontier Renewal, and Larry Lundine, president of Lundine & Associates, will present the land plan at an open house Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Parchment Community Library community room.
