Brownfield project will clean up Waterford parcel Brooke Meier Spinal Column (Waterford,MI) October 1, 2008There will be a new brownfield redevelopment project in Waterford Township to clean up contaminated soil at 6145 Delfield Drive, the new site of Total Door, Inc.
The brownfield redevelopment project will have a total cost of $47,710 that will be paid for with captured dollars from different township millages. It's estimated the tax capture will last three years, but Robert Vallina, community planning and development director for the township, said the timeframe could be longer.
"The timeframe for the tax capture might take longer than three years depending upon the amount of funding available for capture during each fiscal year," he said. "The tax base for the property, or the amount dedicated to the taxing authorities and not available for tax capture, will be determined by the township assessor."
