New Muskegon lakefront property owner hopes green theme sells

All Dan Henrickson can do is wait.

The Grand Rapids developer who purchased the 34-acre business park at Edison's Landing on Muskegon Lake last November had high hopes of quickly filling storefronts and attracting residents to the newly built condominiums.

But a series of events have occurred over the past several months to change those plans.

Since purchasing the waterfront development that includes the Grand Valley State University Alternative and Renewable Energy Center, the nation has been plagued by a credit and housing crisis, Michigan has plunged further into economic morass and the potential of a casino in downtown Muskegon has faded.
