Riverside plan clears hurdle

R.H. Ledbetter Properties is considering developing a retail center 
across from Ridge Ferry Park.

An 83-acre mixed-use development proposed for city-owned property on 
Riverside Parkway is one step closer to reality.

R.H. Ledbetter Properties Inc. received a federal permit to move a small 
stream that threatens the closed landfill on the site.

"This is a long process, but probably the biggest hurdle in the 
redevelopment was the relocation of Burwell Creek" Rome Assistant City 
Manager Sammy Rich said.
