City officials explain brownfield plan

Construction of the $2.9 million medical arts facility is expected to begin next week, ahead of demolition of Central Middle School.

The city prodded the $5 million redevelopment, which will also include three floors with 54 units of senior housing along Spruce Street, forward on two fronts Monday.

In a special meeting at 5:30 p.m., the city Planning Commission supported the site plan after a final review.
