I agree with the reasons Lenny listed for technically criticizing risk
assessment and would add:
Calculating risk exclusively in terms of cancer; lead is a good example
in this regard.
The routine separation of "Ecological Receptors" (animals, plants, etc.)
and "Humans" has and continues to be irksome and befuddling to me.
Outside living in a ziploc bag, we ARE ecological receptors.
In terms of social and cultural shortcomings, the list grows
exponentially.
